Your Responsibilities – Leading the Way in Growth and Change
As a unit manager with us, you will strategically lead and develop the operations towards set goals. You are committed to delivering quality within defined time frames. Here, you will meet competent and engaged colleagues with a strong interest in our issues. You will lead and distribute work in close collaboration and dialogue with the unit's administrators and experts. Your work will include establishing the unit while ensuring continuity and safeguarding work methods.
Collaboration with other units and departments within the agency is also part of your assignment. In the Department of System Analysis and Statistics, the units work closely together, and you may be responsible for investigations or similar tasks primarily staffed by employees from sibling units.
You will participate in the department's management team and are expected to actively contribute to the department's overall work and development in that role. In the management team, you will have both support and close collaboration with your colleagues. You will have overall responsibility for the unit's economy, budget, employees, work environment, and operational issues. In this role, it is important that you have a sense of the whole, quality, and are skilled at communicating and engaging.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic background in, for example, economics, engineering, or another relevant education that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of experience working as a leader and in the energy sector with a systems perspective.
You have good skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as well as good knowledge of IT systems and programs.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience of qualified work in a government agency
- experience working in a management team
- worked with energy markets where you are accustomed to following market developments
- knowledge or experience in communication with the media
- experience of having worked as a manager

About Us
The Department of System Analysis and Statistics is the hub of the Swedish Energy Agency's investigative work, and the responsibility extends across all types of energy issues, energy and electricity system issues, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, forecasts, and scenarios. In the department, we are responsible for Sweden's official energy statistics. We actively work with all three pillars of energy policy. The government is our primary client, but we also work to enhance knowledge in society at large.
The Energy Systems and Market unit is responsible for leading and participating in the agency's investigative and analytical work to provide well-founded materials for the government and other decision-makers. We are responsible for the agency's market analysis work, where we monitor and analyze current market events and follow price developments in all energy markets. The unit employs both subject matter experts in various parts of the energy system and investigation leaders responsible for the agency's analytical work.

Good to Know
The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Positions within the Swedish Energy Agency may be placed in a security class, which means security screening and background checks according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Upon permanent employment, it may be relevant to be placed in the agency in times of war.
